Lunar Ice to End Earth's Drought

Well gang, it's been a long night of surfing and I've come across a
whole bunch of interesting material, but this one is unique, so I
wanted to share a NEW plan with you.

My 2 cents worth:

So, you want to take the last little bit of water left on the Moon,
just
barely enough to -maybe- bootstrap a colony, and SEND IT BACK TO
EARTH?!!
That's like driving out into the middle of the desert, cutting down
the
last palm tree, and taking it back to the forest to sell for lumber!

It would be a -much-, -much- better plan to set up your mass-driver
in
Greenland or Antarctica, and launch the ice into a fractional orbit
to
seed the clouds or whatever. To find the technical stats you want
for
mass-drivers, go to http://www.hotbot.com (one of the better WWW
search
sites) and look for keywords like: "mass driver" orbit

Or, if you really wanted to export something useful from the Moon,
use
the mass-driver to export metal (literally common as dirt on the
Moon)
to build solar-power satellites in Earth orbit. Rare-earth minerals
such as yttrium and samarium (used for all sorts of things, and Lunar
KREEP basalt is richer in lanthanides than many ores mined on Earth)
might also make economic sense. ANYTHING else besides water!
