"Has anyone considered building a habitat on this NEO and use it as a
train going back and forth to Mars? ..." Yes that topic has been widely
considered. I have not studied the history of that idea, but, for example,
John S. Lewis in Mining the Sky, chapter 12, and maybe others, considers
such "cycler's".
