Don't forget, for at least one Apollo mission, the Saturn upper
stage was purposefully crashed into the moon. The astronauts placed
seismic equipment to monitor the shockwave. The Moon "rang like a
bell" IIRC from the impact.
Also, either Clemintine or Prospector crash landed as well.
