Island 3 as an example, have most of the exterior solar
mirrors "turned off" but have a few cells still reflecting. These
shafts of light could be targeted to land in city parks, or fish
ponds, or anywhere people don't live. The diffusion of light might
be enough to give you a low ambient light level. Besides, it sure
would look cool to look out your home window and see these shafts of
light tri-secting the habitat :) Kind of like those laser motion
detectors.

Yeah we could. As someone in another group commented, we could
develop an art of "weather engineering."
