unnecessarily assume that the HEO telescope would be comprised of
unjoined pieces. Without the constraints of gravity couldn't a metal
wire run between all of the HEO components and join then together to
assure unit integrity. Then just the entire unit's orbit must be
maintained, not all of its pieces.
On the moon, wouldn't the telescope face the thermal shock of
day/night. Thus any measurements during the temperature cycling
period would be prone to error because of the structural
characteristics of the telescope materials, substructure and
foundation which would be affected during the temperature swings.
