Response to China

Imagine a scenario playing out in the next few years, where the US
has no ability to go beyond LEO and the Chinese push forward with
the Moon launch ambitions. The Chinese land on the Moon and claim
it! Further, they start selling parcels of it to private companies
with operations in China.

I just wanted to say that perhaps one of the best things that could happen
would be for China to start pushing further into space, and for then the
U.S. to become quite worried about it. That worry might then translate
into action. Remember that we went to the Moon in the '60s because we
wanted to beat the Soviets. Perhaps we'll go to the Moon in the '10s in
order to not be left in the dust by the Chinese.
