They are !thinking! about sound waves. There is a big difference
between the shock wave generated by smashing something flat in a very
short space of time and viberation. It is quite likely that the shock
wave induceing viberational energy will cause the total overall
efficiency to be very low. If you took into account the energy of the
bullet used to smash the media then the current conversion would not be
anywhere near 100%. More like .01 %. A very interesting experiment but
it needs a few more brilliant innovations to be come useable.
