To my mind, I guess the first thing is to decide if the Habitat
design is spawned from the knowledge of airecraft/spacecraft or from
civil engineering like dams, pyramids, buildings, highways etc.

Next, bring in engineers very familiar with building pressure
vessels, because this one will be huge.

Perhaps, develop some new technology like vacuum vapor deposition.
To my understanding, the mean free state of the vacuum must be low
enough that the metallic vapor can "flow" onto the habitat form. If
this is possible, can be scaled up to immense proportions, and be
cost effective it might just beat the "welding steel plates
together" mode.

Alternatively, there is serious consideration of using lunacrete for
the construction of the Habitat shell.

After completion of the shell, a whole army of different engineering
disciplines will be involved in making all of the systems work.

I believe that a number of new skill sets will be added to existing
engineering disciplines in order to master processes in a zero-g and
vacuum environment. I think the possibilities are exciting!
