How often would you actually be in space?

I think alot of it comes downto how long could I live
in space and still be able to come back to Earth. How
long till I need full 1-g gravity or how high is the
radiation dosage is more the questions that would
determine my length of stay.

This thought brings up an interesting point, if you
knew that moving to a space colony would mean that you
could never walk on Earth again unassisted, would you
still go?
