The fires of nationalism and fear of foreigners are one of the reasons
I can't talk freely about suborbital spaceflight to potential
collaborators in Brazil and Canada. This isn't a hypothetical
situation: I have actually lost real opportunities for collaboration on
building rockets (actual hardware) due to irrational fear of foreigners.
for a new space race is like the cargo cults after WWII -
understandable, but irrational and pitiful.
