Just as the aircraft industry had to wait for the engines to become more powerful and wiegh less before real progress could be made, I suggested that some of the Sci Fi inspired answers (such as anti-gravity) may need to be developed to get Space faring going. I don't know of any Futurist that has been even close to acurate predictions for 10 years out, much less longer spans of time. So claiming that tether/space elevator materials or anti-gravity or whatever is more or less likely is a fools bet. Since there is a workable plan with a sub orbital system (as outlined) then tally-ho and forward.... :-)
