Message You're probably not interested in someone suggesting that you change your scenario, but I would suggest that you consider changing the lunar industry from He3 mining to mining of raw materials for construction of SPS in HEOfor the following reasons: The fusion reactors which would burn this fuel do not yet even exist as paper drawings. Many billions have been spent over several decadeson the much-easier D-T reaction with no commercially useful results. There are several highly-detailed designs for SPS which could be built using technology available today. In both scenarios, lunar resources provide the key to producing large amounts of environmentally-benign energy, so there's not that much difference in the end results. But SPSis a more near-term technology, and we don't yet know that He3 fusion will ever be possible.

Hello all,
I am new to this list. I am a graduate student at the University
of North Dakota in the Space Studies department (www.space.edu). I
am currently working on my masters thesis option and looking for any
research help or suggestions. My topic is a permanant human mining
colony for the mining of Helium-3 for fuel in fusion. Other
aplications would follow.
