I did a little more fiddling with the numbers, and I think you can get
D-D side reactions down to about 25% rather than 50% - this is still
not enough to save the scheme, but I figured I should try to post
correct numbers.

It's unfortunate that there is a tendency within the fusion community
to look on the bright side, at least in published documents. Partly
it's due to the need to spin things for the funding agencies, and
partly it's because the pessimists leave and get jobs elsewhere.
