Let's watch this test case

Paul,

After reading nearly all of you posts I very impressed with your
breadth of knowledge. And I think that you are right about a whole
bunch of things. In fact I would like to know more about how I can
make my house and life more energy efficient. I have considered
things like Solar Panels and windmills for my upstate property. I
have also called some HVAC guys in the Mohawk valley to give me a
quote on Geothermal heat exchange units that would save me on my oil
consumption. having said all of that

I don't see what this has to do with SPS. The way I see SPS is a
replacement for old in efficient Coal and Oil fired plants. We can
still continue to become more energy efficient as well as self
sufficient. SPS is the only large scale proposal that comes close to
solving energy needs the way older coal Oil and Nuke plants have in
the past. The idea that everyone on earth needs to change their
thinking and behavior sound insane to me.

Here is how people make decisions. light bulbs. If you go to the
hardware store there is a pyramid of GE 100 watt light bulbs. the
florescent mini bulbs that use 15 watts are priced three times as
much and they are on the bottom shelf in the back. The question is
what does the customer do? they buy the bulbs that or on the display
in the front. The 100 watt incandescent ones.

Basically all of our decisions are made for us in the same way.
When we plug in an appliance to the outlet in our house, we are
using dirty power (Oil, Gas, Coal) or clean power (Hydro, solar,
Geothermal, SPS). It's not like we have two wall outlets, one for
clean powere and one for dirty power. We have one choice.

If we provided clean power at peoples outlet they would chose clean
power every time. SPS can do this.
