The concept is that PV (or wind right now in Denmark's case) produces
hydrogen during the day from water + electricity, and then the hydrogen
is burned at night to create high temperature heat and electricty is
produced using these MEMS stirling-like engines (or whatever) from that
heat at 60-80% conversion efficiency. So, the fuel cell generation of
electricity is replaced by the MEMS + Hydrogen burning (perhaps at a
slightly lower conversion efficiency, admitted).
