BTW, if viable antimatter production and containment comes to reality,
then it will be an alternative to beamed space solar power. Instead of
beaming energy to Earth, space solar plants would instead produce
antimatter on site and then deliver it to Earth, where it could be used
to produce energy in nuke-like plants, without the need of many square
kilometers of rectenas to gather microwaves. Also, antimatter SPSs could
stay at the Earth-Sun L1 point and stay on sunlight *all* the time,
never passing through the shadow of Earth.
