Keep this modus operandi in mind as you read this news article.

http://www.econot.com/page4.html

"Their tactics always follow a familiar pattern. First, declarations
of some new ecological "crisis," based upon the flimsiest of
evidence and perversions of the scientific method. Next,
mathematical projections of catastrophic consequences stemming from
the new danger, extrapolated from ludicrous worst-case scenarios."

OK, that's the modus operandi, and right from the playbook is how it
is appllied in this article.

Oil platform buries global warming gas

"And some environmental groups believe CO2 reinjection might be
risky, fearing that the gas might leak into the sea and harm marine
life. CO2 is a clear, non-toxic gas but can be disruptive in heavy
concentrations."

Believe! Believe on what basis? This is the crisis from the
playbook. Let's inject some unsubstaniated fear into the comment.

""We are critical because we don't know whether this is a permanent
solution. No one knows whether the CO2 will stay in the reservoir in
100 or 1,000 years," said campaigner Truls Gulowsen of the
environmental group Greenpeace."

He's critical because he *doesn't know.* Hey buddy, how about trying
to be critical because you *do know.* Luddites.

""The more we store greenhouse gases away, the bigger the potential
climate bomb is and the longer it will take to get rid of the real
problem -- the burning of fossil fuels," he said."

And here is the social engineering. So they'll replace fossil fuels
at great expense and create a hydrogen economy and then what? How
about all that hydrogen destroying the Ozone Layer. Oh that's right,
that issue actually involves science, and let's not forget that for
Greenpeace the target is the oil *industry* and the other industries
that need oil, and the consumer lifestyle that they make feasible,
it's not really the environment.

He's also worried about the climate bomb from storing all that CO2.
I guess everytime he walks through a forest he feels like he's
walking through a minefield. Imagine all the CO2 bombs stored in
those trees.

Look at this tree calculator.

CO2 from fossil fuels can be sequestered, as the article makes clear.

"But underneath it has been stashing away one million tons of CO2
gas every year since 1996, or the equivalent of the amount produced
by about 110,000 Norwegians a year."

I'd love to get Greenpeace off of their modis operandi and actually
using science, logic, and economics, but alas, I think pigs will
fly, and they'll be genetically engineered too, before that happens.
