snappy name for orbital space colonies

Since there could easily be trillions of these "rapture points"
supporting quadrillions of human lives by 3000AD if they were
self-replicating from asteroidal and lunar ore and sunlight, perhaps you
have a slightly longer list? :-) [This is yet another reason fighting
over bits of the Earth's surface really is rather pointless compared to
the alternatives.]

By the way, one of my favorite sci-fi novels is called _The Rapture
Effect_ by Jeffrey A Carver. In the story, characters connect to the
computer and an interplanetary internet through a whole body "rapture"
field which literally lifts people up into the air -- although the
author might be seen as using this to mean more like "rapport". It is
interesting because he develops the concept for dancing and musical
interactions between people "in rap". If I said any more I might be
spoiling a fun read, but it does involve space. :-)

Which makes me think -- maybe we need realistic virtual reality Space
Cities or Rapture Points people could visit via the internet? I have
long thought that would be a good premise for a high-tech and
science-educational massive multiplayer role playing game.
