If by chanced any of you don't get e-mail from spaceupdate@... you should subscribe. Their latest includes the headline, "Help for Hubble: Officials Mull Donations, Russian Service Mission." I would think that the US should be embarrassed about the fact that we have needed the Russians to save our investment in the International Space Station, as we can not send humans there anymore, and now they may save us with the Hubble. Which country is the leading world power? And which has fallen behind?
