People aren't supporting Moon Plan

It would be far more interesting if those decrying the financing issues of
the space plan would talk in percentages of budget instead of the billions.
Maybe even net cost would be better. However, it seems that they, which
includes those suppossedly among the space advocates, would rather spin
things in a negative way to reflect badly on a political leader than advance
their own calling. What a shame...

I know that many people like to buy in to the 'smaller, faster, cheaper'
argument, but great things are seldom if ever achieved by such an approach.
In fact, it could be shown that this approach is far more conducive towards
guilding pockets and floating many small time researchers than achieving
something of larger and grander scale. Though I would leave the task of
showing this to TangMan (he is much better than I at fathoming the depths of
financing :-) ).

Liken it to a man planning for his future. If he continues to spend on all
the little things, like beer and nintendo and a nice car that he replaces
every two years, he will find, in the end, that the enrichment he fancied
himself achieving only led to opportunities lost.Surely as he takes stock of
his situation, he will see how much further ahead he would find himself if
only he had kept focus and sacrificed the small pleasures. I think he would
find his wealth on a grand scale capable of far more if only he had
invested...

Here we find ourselves with an opportunity... Should we squander it, or get
behind it knowing that all our dreams have far more chance of realization if
we delay the small pleasures and lend our efforts to the greater cause.
