Hello Gang,
During the first week of August I will be delivering a
public lecture on the promise of Asteroid Mining entitled "Asteroids:
Peril and Promise" that will discuss not only the issue of planetary
defence but also ways of diverting asteroids in safe orbits near the
Earth so we may exploit their mineral potential.
past impacts, Tunguska etc. But, especially the near hit of that
meteorite over Wyoming's Grand Teton Mountains that skipped back out
into space on August 10th, 1972. I think many of you have seen that
famous film footage of the fireball streaking across the sky. Does
anyone here know of a web site where I can obtain that footage in MPEG
or Quicktime format?
Also does anyone know if that explosion that occurred in Vladivostok on
February 12th,1947 was really a meteorite fall. After the fall of the
Soviet Union were any official records and film footage released.
Also with regards to GAIASHIELD manned mission to a NEO proposed by Bob
Zubrin are there any good artistic renders of the mission anywhere on
the Internet?
I beforehand thank you for your help,
Alex Michael Bonnici
