I urge caution when bashing NASA --- it is not a monolithic agency.
Remember that NASA, in conjunction with JPL, has done amazing things such
as Deep Space 1, Galileo, etc. Within NASA there are several NASA's,
some far-sighted and keen, others considerably less so.
