If there is any lesson to be learned from the dynamics of charity then stopping funding for Fusion will mean the resources come available for other things including possibly SPS. Here in Seattle every time the Sierra Club throws a huge fundraiser, donations to causes like Habitat for Humanity tend to suffer. The same is true for the Tsunami relief. There seems to be only so much money budgeted and how it is allocated is independent of what it is. - Thor

of one penny of that going into SPS? Do I think it's likely? No. Do I think it would be a good idea? Yes. Everybody understands that past a point you have to quit throwing good money after bad. It could be the fusion is well past that point.
