Hello,

Freeman Dyson was quoted at Flight School as follows

A third option is the space elevator, a large structure made of
customized molecules that could spring people into outer space,
according to proponents.

"I am on record in saying that it won't work, but I love to be proven
wrong," Dyson said, noting that the elastic energy would have to be
equal to the chemical energy required to send a rocket to space. "If it
tears in one place, it is likely to be a disaster."

I'd love to find the source for where Dyson is on record. The reporter
seems to be talking about one thing, Dyson about another.

Any ideas?
