Good question. Probably not enough to spur interest in space development yet there will be other interesting effects. Here are my three picks. 1) The freeways will likely not be as congested. 2) There will be a lot more bankruptcies by highly leveraged people. 3) The price will fluctuate wildly due to cutbacks and recessions around the world. - Thor

Looking at the current increase in gasoline prices it is not
inconceivable that we could hit five dollars a gallon in the U.S.A.
I am wondering what interesting effects this will cause.
