Space Medicine Summer School 2005

Dear Colleagues,
I would like to inform your staff and students about
International Summer School
"SPACE BIOLOGY AND MEDICINE"
to be held in Moscow, Russia during June 13 - Ju 26, 2005.
The School is a joint project of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, the Institute for Biomedical Problems (Russian Academy of Sciences), and educational agency Contemporary Educational Programmes.
It will take place for the fifth time and will provide an overview of the main elements of Soviet/Russian cosmonautics. The Schools' disciplines concern the history of cosmonautics, results of the national space programs, biomedical research projects, and cosmonaut safety-dependent engineering problems. A practical part of the course also includes a demonstration of medical supplies found onboard the spaceships such as "Vostok", "Voshod", "Soyuz" and space stations "Salyut" and "Mir".
The School program is designed for two weeks. All classes are delivered in English.
The School is open for both students and specialists in biomedicine, natural sciences, engineering, and related fields. The program includes lectures from leading Russian specialists, meetings with cosmonauts, visiting museums and national centers (Space Museum, Moscow Mission Control Center, Center of Cosmonauts Training), and a picturesque list of cultural tours.
The School offers a unique opportunity to make friends and meet colleagues from around the world.
For the first time this year:
- INTAS supports participation of young scientists from NIS (up to 5 persons)
- we organize Workshop for participants' presentations
- handouts will imply main slides of lectures
