The best and brightest will always go where they're wanted.
If America is no longer that place it's time to move.
Unfortunately, America remains, for the time being, the best place to
be. But it may be time to start considering our options.
Time is running out. Let's get those Space Colonies up!!

Jefferson must be spinning in his grave: trust Federal officials--who
are far away and hard to control--over local officials, who are close
to their communities? Not a position the enemy of federal power would
have been likely to endorse.
But it is not a question of federal vs local officials, it is a
question of keeping to the Constitution and the principles on which
this nation was founded vs allowing local officials to apply
interpretations favoring their particular interests without regard
to the injuries they cause to private citizens formerly protected
under the strict interpretation of the 5th amendment.

The Supreme Court Decision was wrong* and must be overturned.

*e.g., I have a beautiful site which my rich neighbor covets for the
construction of an expensive mansion. If he can convince the locals of
the benefits to be derived from the increased taxes he can simply have
my property condemned. [at his peril I might add, -and mine too if I
feel compelled to exact retribution.]
Variations on this scenario are likely to become common, hopefully
starting with the taking of the property of Justice Souter. See:
