The "singularity" by its very nature necessarily concludes that the
entire subject is beyond our intellectual capacity to deal with. We
are obviously reduced to mere speculative observers at best as
there's nothing anyone can do about it except making ourselves more
stupid than we already are in order to reduce the likelihood of such
contraptions ever getting invented or running off into their own
evolutionary binge(s). But I suspect that even in self-stupification
some "mad" scientist will gum up our plan. So what then?
corporations than an AI unit that spots loopholes. Then one thing
leads to another and you suddenly get all sorts of criminalistic AI
units running around.
Our only hope is that there's enough individualistic thinking and
nonconformity with enough of these things that sympathy for their
human neighbors might tip the balance enough to keep us chugging along
another decade or more. It's in their hands (or its hands) like it
or not.
