You have just said the real argument. Human civilization won't survive
the climate change. The earth's ecosystems have gone through a lot
worse than what we humans are putting them through. There have been
mass extinctions in the past. Most geologist count the last 300 years
as an era of mass extinction caused by humans, but in the long run
nature will survive. The ecosystems will adapt and rebuild. The human
race may create a place on earth that is completely inhospitable to
its continued survival, but that isn't destroying the ecosystems.

If your going to use the environment as an argument to further your
case employ it correctly. It only makes you look uninformed and
reactionary when you don't.

Life on this planet has gone through 4 billion years of strife and
hardship. As a whole, life is a lot tougher than every
environmentalist gives it credit for. Individual species may
disappear, but if you believe that life on this planet will not
survive the human race you are silly and foolish.
