I will absolutely support a moonbase prize if one is proposed. I
might even vote for people I ordinarily would not vote for. I can
support this in part because I personally do *not* believe that the
moon is useless, but even if I did, I can see that developing the
capability to establish a moonbase means, pretty much by default,
developing the capability to do other things too.

WHAT IS NEEDED TO WIN THE MOONBASE PRIZE:

The ability to whump large payloads into orbit,

The ability to whump small, medium, and large payloads into orbit for
A LOT LESS than what it costs today,

The ability to maintain several to many (8 to 100) human beings in
health for long periods of time (three years is what was suggested),

Several other things.

WHAT IS NEEDED TO DO STUFF THAT SOME SAY IS MUCH BETTER THAN A
MOONBASE: exactly the same things

So again, I will support the establishment of a Moonbase Prize, and
would encourage those who think that the moon is second-best to
support it as well.
