New Space Races? [WAS] Let's Play Politics

I find it interesting that a space program which itself generates
little or no economic return is seen as something that helps the
economy in general. Perhaps if it works for China, other nations will
follow? Japan could FINALLY do manned space flight, and perhaps
India, which does have a space program, would start putting people up
as well.

Finally, I really can't see China doing a moon landing without the
Russians deciding to do one as well. I certainly don't see them
letting one country after another lap them like that.

Then of course we'd have to prove that we still can, and indeed that
we ever did.
