GUT Drives and Other Advanced Propulsion Systems

Oh hey, they have a linke to the Orion's Arm version, which I was going to
bring up. But that's a lot different than "let's tap the vacuum", being based
instead on induced proton decay, so you get full conversion of matter to
energy without reference to Dyson-generated antimatter. That page is actually
obsolete, they've been moving toward conversion based on magnetic monopoles
and dropping the GUT name. But same basic idea, just with a specific proposed
mechanism. If someone can make the magnetic monopoles...

The idea of inducing proton decay for energy was one of the cool ideas I've
seen in OA.
