Carl Sagan’s rationale for human spaceflight

I can't take issue with Sagan's sentiments. However this ..

"SpaceShipOnes Ansari X Prize breakthrough brought the worlds
attention to the idea of personal spaceflight. Hopefully, a documentary
will do the same for another important idea."

Documentaries aren't going to fill seats in theaters - the genre has a
niche audience. The number of people who will watch a space-themed
documentary ... smaller yet.

Worse still if it's a preachy documentary.

If you want to put these ideas forward, make a movie. Tell a story. Go
easy on the earnest tone, heavy on excitement and adventure. Slip 'The
Message' in such a deft manner that you don't really notice it unless
you're paying attention. Above all make it a good movie first, second
and last.
