Gary,
Also to All,
1.4 GW of production now exists for a-Si:H thin film solar PV with manufacturing systems amenable to 1.5 micron thin solar PV on ATOX and radiation resistant polyimide. 1.4 GW is the ground rating for these solar cells, while in space they perform yearly at a ten times better rating.

Glad to hear about this. Solutions in the pipeline for space manufacturing practicality is much to be desired.
I've been trying to find discussion pages on the nuclear light bulb thruster. I see some difficulty with implementing this tech and would like to hear what other hardware oriented people have to say. Do you know of any useful sites that deal with the tech?

Wanted to let everyone know that SSI's Dr. Lee Valentine appeared on "The Space Show" to discuss the upcoming SSI Space Manufacturing conference. David Livingston seemed very impressed with the quality of the speakers lined up. MP3's of past shows are available here (http://thespaceshow.com/) and Valentine'sis under Oct/6/2010.
