Making rollers on the moon

I'm researching the techniques of using molten nickel iron to create rollers and other equipment necessary for lunar manufacturing. The key question is can you build up the molten iron on a rod very much like you wind up yarn on a spool? Are there issues like bubbles or rough consistency to be concerned with.
The goal is to figure out what is needed for turning the lunar iron into useable structural members like rolled steel, 'I' beams, breaks, and presses.
