Ok I know this idea sounds totally WACKED, but heit is!

Indeed, this is brilliant.

You can add turning the cheese into an aerogel which
would reduce the weight to practically nothing while
retaining the cheeseyness. Aerogels make good space
insulators against most micrometeorites, not just
radiation.

NASA and South Park will be proud of your idea.
