A simple question about Island 3

This is hand-drawn artwork from Don Davis (I happen to know about this because the Don Davis Art Showwas one of the things I added to the SSI website back when I was webmaster.) The only CAD-type drawing I'm aware of was a cross-sectional of a Bernal Sphere which was done on some program named Dew CAD back in 1980. No, I do not have access to the file nor do I know anything about Dew CAD. I only have a paper copy which was once sent out by SSI as a promotional item.
