Competing Models of Space Settlement]

How it happens doesn't really matter all that much as long as we do get into
space. Once there settlements of every possible political and economic view
will pop up giving people a very large choice.

Getting there I personally don't think private enterprise can do it alone but
that it will be a mixture of private and public. I prefer settlement in space
not on a planet and I really don't care whether or not nuclear is used for it
just as long as we get into space before we get wiped out. Those opposed to it
will be able to slow it down but the only way they will stop us getting into
space is to slow us down enough to be wiped out (one wonders whether that is
their subconsious motivation).
