The AEGIS Society

Recently I introduced the concept of a new nonprofit organization called Leaving The Cradle Society. I have changed that name to The AEGIS Society and given it a mission to design, build, operate and maintain a shield that will provide a safe haven to which all people living on Earth can retreat so as to escape the effects of a comet in the Hale-Bopp range colliding with Earth. This shield will be a network of space settlements parked at Lagrangian points and accessible through a network of space elevators, space stations, and space ferries.
