Fusion Propulsion Question

The site is very interesting (although poorly designed, as any lab site ;-)
and the approach indeed sounded completely new, at least for me. However,
the article that appeared in "American Scientist" is from 1999 and was
already mentioning those "commercial tabletop particle generators". How has
that project progressed in the last three years?

It would be nice to have fusion-based products in the market - that could
pave the way (in terms of additional research and funding in the right
places) for the coming of energetically effective fusion reactors.
