I have seen this issue come up in plane crashes. One award was for $80M
because of potential lifetime earnings of an individual. I must confess
that I do not think this is right. I would make it a flat rate for all
people. The rich should buy life insurance to keep their heirs in the
style to which they have become accustomed. Note that similar issues
also exist with the survivors of victims of 9/11, according to newspaper
accounts.

This could be a problem for space tourism because of the extreme wealth
required to be a space tourist in the early years.
