Asteroid Mining

I expect that to be influenced very heavily by to what extent
teleoperation technology advances. If we see major advances in the near
future, that will tend to push us toward the moon prior to the
asteroids. If we continue to rely on people in key roles, the moon may
or may not come first. Alternately, there may come along some
extraordinary window of opportunity with regard to a newly-discovered
asteroid that might tip the balance.

I'm sure both will happen, and am sure that either will vastly help out
with the other.
