How to build a PressuVessel?

With space radiation, the positively-charged nuclei are of greater concern
than the gamma rays, because they're much more penetrating and more damaging
biologically. I don't think nuclei are going to see a difference between a
transparent and an opaque shield.

I think the confusion arises from the fact that glass is transparent to
visible light. Because of glass's tranparency to light, that makes one
wonder if it is also transparent to gamma radiation and alpha particles. My

guess would be that glass's opacity to alpha particles would indeed be a
function of its density and thickness, as suggested. But since gamma
radiation is just energy, is glass opaque to it, or does clear glass that
admits light also admit gamma radiation as efficiently? I don't have a
physics text around to look that up, but surely some of the great minds that

follow this site will know that without a reference book.
