Just joined this group. I am Selvaraj from India.

I read a short report in yesterday's news paper as follows:

MOON-MARS VISION

Cape Canaveral: Edward "Pete" Aldridge, chief of the President's Space
Commission, in charge of setting the President's Moon-Mars vision into
motion is looking to ordinary Americans to advice. "We want the public to
feel that they had input into this process."

Then again in Yahoo there is a report about some expert warning against any
programme to Mars.

Question:
Why does it cost so much to design space hardware? The Space Station for
Insatance is just a can in the sky, why then the cost of tens of billions?
