SSTO to the stars

About Ruskie Tech, I have the highest admiration. All my emails address
hiring Ruskies because o f their ability to solave problems without
necessarily throwing oodles of money at it.

True fals or what ever, the space pen anecdote is popular because it kinda
hits the concept on the head; ruskies used a low tech pencil, the NASA spent
millions. Again, true falso whatever, what makes it funny is that
somewhere in there is the essence.

Tucker, bless his soul, was pretty much going up against the entrenched
nehemoths of detroit (with their well established politico support, the best
money can buy :-) .

Since NASA at this time doesnt really care about promoting SPACE as a
civilian option (and lets not get into minutia) and generally speaking the
idea is for Government to initiate expensive industries and then help
promote privatization (airlines) , then a private concern trying to boot
strap a new initiative should get suport, not competition....

So what kind of fool does the Mars society become in their support of
experimental outposts? What kind of fool was Irridium with their billion
dollar , international network? How about ENRON? So we are in good company
and actually have a great position, since if we make "fools" of ourselves,
no one could reallymake fun of it since it was a bootstrap effort and what
could one expect? And yet if we do get the under dog support and grass roots
momentum going, what a success we could claim?! A no loose situation in my
eyes. Its the biggies like NASA that have to take measured super
conservative steps because a failure on their part with the supposed
resources would be total humiliation. A small effort could run free of those
containments and limitations, (in my eyes, how about yours?)

Suddenly the joke of buying MIR became reality...and then the scofferes had
their day again when MIR was de-orbited , and then had to eat their guffaws
when Tito's $20 million and persistents got them into the holy of holy's,
the much acclaimed Space Station. And now a second "tourist" to boot, so as
that the scofferes could not say thet Tito was a freak incident akin to
Mercury freezing over :-)

Suddenly these "fools" looking to buy a Space Sationnd, sell bookings to
their geek dream hotel in the sky , don't look so very silly. Supposedly
there is a list (albeit short) of others wanting to partake of these silly
peoples business. Pop starts, more rich folks,,, what ever.

What fools would we be in pursuing the dream? If failure comes about, no
one could say anything, if we succeed it can be the underdog to space
cinderella story.

The greatest asset we have now is that internet is excedingly cheap.
Publicty can be next to free. With a few little techy toys on the web site,
some links to serious science URL's , a decent presence could be established
for under $5000. What an investment. With some 500 members on this list (and
some similar networked groups) that could be donations of some $10 a head.
I get slammed all the time with virtual casino spam... I havent looked into
the casino's legitimacy, but obviously something is there, and may very well
provide the venue for ticket sales. Create a non profit 501 c corp (which I
would be happy to donate access to mine to start with and help set up a new
one with its own proper name, accounts and legit third party over-seers to
maintain legalities (I think the aanderson firm is under used right now,
heheh juss kidding) ) and the ticket sales would be tax deductable and
legit IRS recognized (although I would recommend the tickets be of $50
denomination to cut down on paper work and reciepts sent out)

Bing boom bang, in less than 30 days we could have something started. Who
were the initial MIR buyers anyway? Any big names? Not that come to my
mind...so why not Space Settlers along with LUF and the dozen or so similar
entities out there playing with the promotion of SPace farring activities?

The Ruskies never said that MIR was for sale. They never said they were
willing to sell seats on their rockets. That they have an over abundance of
uses for the Buhran....I really kinda doubt. Too many other rocket companies
forming and providing service out there. A serious proposal with some money
collected from ticket donation / presales would surely ret the Ruskies
comptroller interested in considering. I see people buying lots on the moon
and planets as a novelty, so we offer the same... "This ticket may or may
not be honored for a seat to Space" thanks for your donation. get your name
on a web site roster with reservations :-) hey if they can sell pet
rocks,,,,
