Newsflash, the warlords were in southern Somalia and that's where the
starving were (as a result of thief of food) but northern Somalia was
peaceful and thriving with new roads being build and new businesses going up
and they didn't have government either. The media never said about it. You
have to dig in deeper for that kind of information. In fact the north and
south are really different nations due to different tribes. However, the
idea of miltary invasion for purpose of charity failed for the same weakness
foudn with public and private welfare program. The lack of first-hand
knowledge. How do you know what that homeless guy's real problem is?
Hunger? Drug abuse? Mental illness? Laziness? Rational use of least effort
for max gain? Or even a undercover cop? If you wish to provide aid, you must
know what's his personal problem so that you can give him just the aid he
need. Same situtation with nations. In end, one thing must be kept in mind,
no matter what your intention may be, if you don't know the people, they will
lose respect for you very fast. This is what happened in Somanlia. By the
time the troops left, they were subjected to widespread haterd for their
bulliness. How would YOU like it if the Redcoats invaded Union and arrest
Lincoln as warlord (English would have a excellent case as Lincoln violated
both Constitution and Genvna Convention on warfare which was signed only a
year before the war. The Confederary are just as guilty) and then kill few
angry irishs in New York City that they "regreds te deaths but it was
