Whats the population of Belize?

How about some of the smaller caribbean islands?

How does their economy work?

I assume no one took the financing suggestion of mortgaging 250,000
production to get $25 trillion to do it.
sigh.

Back to the caribbean islands,,,what do they sell / trade (legally ;-)

They sell location; sunshine, different atmosphere.

Many folks have decided to live there to get away from standard urban
lifestyle. With cell phones, email, etc. they manage business anywhere in
the world while enjoying the fun of their caribbean home.

Have you priced homes in the islands lately?

Even with a the high priced homes you give up a lot of amenities, like
shopping malls, fast food restaurants, instant gratification of jumping in a
car and driving anywhere you want,,,, lots of "shortages".

You have to plan ahead to order what you'll need because it has to be
specially shipped to you...at additional cost to normal.

Yet in spite of these shortages, the attraction of the exotic location, warm
sunshine, being 'different" garner quite a few people.

In Costa Rica alone you have upwards of 40,000 people that are economically
well off (out of 80k expats). How many in USVI, BVI, Seychelles, Ceylon (hey
isn't that were SciFi Clark lives? ) and other exotic homesites?

Would not just the "living" in Space be attractive to many of these as well?
Could not many business-people office types work just as well in orbit as on
the ground? Many commodities, stock and other brokers work from home.

Perhaps THIS is the market you need. Folks that just want something exotic
to do, as they come into their golden years. Been there, done that... EXCEPT
Ive never been in Space...

At $20mm a shot, thats a bit rich for a one time deal... but for a permanent
home? That can be a different thing.

A new ship launched recently called resident-sea which is essentially
condos on a cruise ship, selling cabins for millions. So there is a
precident, huh... You can even FINANCE the acquisition, imagine that.

In all the world population of some 200 million well-off people, perhaps 1/4
of 1 percent would consider the ultimate exotic lifestyle ... that would be
around 250,000 yes?

So what is the trade with the earth? What is the production or factories
doing in Space?
NOTHING...there aint none. There that solves the problem of finding a
profitable widgit to produce, doesnt it.

The object is the very lifestyle of living in Space. period. All thats
needed is good communication system... simple enough.
Develop some additional teleconferencing ability perhaps... but thats more
than these exotic location lovers have now in the exotic island /land
locations.

Soon, the place to "be" if you are anybody is not Manhattan, or Vail, or
Monoco, or Bora Bora, but in earth orbit.
