The USA and other countries are looking for ways now to crack down on
"citizens of the world" with offshore wealth and not paying "appropriate
taxes" to their original nationalities.

Although Panama banks have not caved, most if not all the other tax haven
locations like BVI, Bahamas, etc. are now divulging assets and cooperating
with international tax authorities. :-(

Space location may be the ultimate off- shore tax haven :-)

hehe off-shore AND off-planet...

There is a simple enough industry as well. A few computers to keep track of
accounts generating billions / trillions.

The ultimate in asset protection and non jurisdiction home. How do you
extradite from Space location :-)

Of course now we come back to defense...
Piss off enough governments with the assets drain and they might consider
shooting you down... which means defending yourself how? Import missiles of
your own? Ouch now your one heck of a threat to world stability... Bin
wannabes scenario.
