Basically it works fine.

One detail that you may have missed though- as you build around in a
corkscrew you
need to add counterweights to keep it from wobbling. When you build on
top of a
counterweight you can take it away and replace it with habitat mass and
move the
counterweight around the other side to balance any additional mass
you're adding
there.

But it's only a problem at the ends, the middle should balance out fine
(basically).
