ISS tourism has it's problems, but something is a lot better than
nothing. Killing off what you've got because the new thing is going to
be better is how we lost the Saturn V and got the shuttle -- which
increased launch costs considerably and, due to more limited payload,
made ISS much more difficult to build.
produce. I read Science every week, I've never seen an article
presenting results of a shuttle (except Hubble) or ISS experiment.
Gives you an idea how valuable the ISS science program is.
